'Number' is good for learning numbers.
A boy must escape from the place. For that, he has to choose a correct door that is same as the number the speaker say. If the answer is correct, the door is open. But if not, a scary monster will come out of the door. Your student will really enjoy this game learning numvers naturally.
In he beginning of this game, the speaker says in English. Let your student guess what it means. If they complete their games, "You are good! " sign will be popped and it can motivate your students.

New Clothes

Your students enjoy 2 games in this web, the first one is the dressing up game.
I think most girls like this game.
When they dress up the girl in screen, the computer speaks the name of the clothes. So kids will know the words naturally. If you click a clothes repeatly, they can hear the name of it again and again. Then they can get used to the words easily.

The second is the painting game.
When the student paints a color, the computer speaks the name of the color.
So they can learn the name of color easily. The pictures are various and they can even print it out.

1)Learner fit : It can't present English at a level that is appropriate for learners. But usually they are in the beginner level. And it is very interesting.

2)Bottom-up and top-down processing : It can help the learners focus on particular linguistic aspects by topics like colors or numbers.

3)Selective listening activities : It provides students with a purpose for listening games. And it provides the opportunity for learners to practice holding information in their short-term memories.

4)Video : The program present listening with video. And it include attention to paralinguistic and extralinguistic clues for understanding. And there are controls for the student to pause and replay the video.

5)Two types of evaluation : It doesn't include exercises for students to complete while they are listening. But it include comprehension quizzes.

6)Strategy development : It dosent' incorporate opportunities for students to practice the strategies of listening. But it explicitly teaches listening.

How to use?

Just let them know! It could be in-class material, but not that effective. They just motivate your students to use English. Or in part of art class, use the dressing game. Then you can teach them both the name of colors in English and painting!

Games are simple, clear and very understandable.

And also here are some creating games, too.

Your students can have a fun with it.

But if they are not young enough, it can be boring.

So you should be careful about age of your students.

1)Learner fit
The program present English at a level that is appropriate for learners, young kids. And the program present can grab their attention dramatically.Because it would be interesting.
2)Bottom-up and top-down processing
The activities don't help the learners focus on particular linguistic aspects effectively. But it provides prelistening questions to activate background knowledge and to fill in context. Also there are opportunities for the students to practice both bottom-up and top-down processes, but usually top-down is more.
3)Selective listening activities
It provides students with a purpose for listening. And the activities provide the opportunity for learners to practice holding information in their short-term memories.

6)Strategy developmnet
THe program doesn't incoporate opportunities for students to practice the strategies of predicting, inferring, monitoring comprehension, clarifying confusion and providing a personal responses. Actually it focuses on the reaction of the learners.

How to use?

Nick Jr. is a very pretty game. Your students can't take their eyes of it. So it means, they can concentrate easily using their listening. You can use it in-class, too. The tricky kids in your class will turn into the neat students. Let them answer the voice in the web and try to choose correct answers. You can ask them again what they learn in this web. It makes your students more active.

One moment around the world

http://learnenglishkids.britishcouncil.org/en/short-stories/one-moment-around-the-world

Area : Speaking (British)(with some listening)
Rate : ★★★★★
Target : Young kids and Middle school students

One Moment around the World is a story/quiz that you can do with your students to help them tell the time. It tells the story of eight children who live in countries from Brazil to New Zealand.

As each child’s story unfolds you and your child will need to calculate the time they do the activity by adding or subtracting hours from Greenwich Mean Time. This will provide a fun challenge for both you and your child, along with telling the time correctly.

Every child enjoys a story. This one combines the interest of what various children do in their free time around the world with the challenge of telling the time appropriately.

What is more, younger students may not even be aware of the concept of time zones so may find it mysterious or strange that while they are sleeping, other people around the world are doing various leisure activities, and vice-versa.

This activity will help your students with providing a meaningful context in which they can practise telling the time, along with providing them with meaningful input of language such as the present continuous and prepositions of time.

1) Learner fit :
Regarding to learners, the structured grammatical input can fit the learners in terms of level, topics and activities. Of course, the program provide a means of matching the learners to the grammatical instruction they need.
2) Interaction with the computer :
Learners have opportunities for interaction with the computer to provide a variety of explicit teaching, discovery, analysis and productions in this game.
3) Interaction with other learners :
The activities can be used to spark conversation and collaborative work focusing on particular grammar points that you want to teach, if you want. But you should make some offline activities with this web. And the activities provide an opportunity for learners to focus on form occasionally while communicating about something else.
4) Two types of evaluation :
The activities provide feedback to learners about their responses. And it provide evaluation of learning outcomes through quizzes that provide learners with information about their perfomance because they are quizzes itself.
5) Strategy developmnet :
The activities help learners develop skills for using corpora for gathering and analyzing language examples. And the activities provide guidance in assisting learners to develop strategies that will help them work with electronic texts outside of class.

How to use?
Make your students speak out the expression that is related to time. The story will make the learning more meaningful and students can have fun. Refer the above instruction. I recomment you to use it in class.

Battle Learning

http://www.battlelearning.com/Home/HomeMain.aspx

Area : All (but usually speaking)
Rate : ★★★★
Target : Middle school students

It is not a free web site except one game.
That's why the rate is not perfect.
But I think they are well-constructed for learning English.

http://www.blogger.com/www.battlelearning.com/Game/announcer/englishannouncer

This is only one free game, English Announcer.
It usually focuse on speaking, but you can choose other area to learn and practice.
A player has an avatar who want to be an announcer. So she can learn English with a player in campus and do many things that can attract enough students' interests.

You can choose area you want to study.
For each area, there are various type of learning and levels of them are well-formed.

Learning speaking with your avatar!

In this game, there are well-formed 41 study types and 959 lessons!
And social networking game will motivate your students.

I think it will be effective for girls who like visual images.
It is a kind of roll-playing game, so they can compare each other.
This good web game will introduce your students into the virtual world and in there, they can learn and study English with fun.

1)Learner fit :
Students can access upclass level when they complete lowclass levels.
2)Explicit teaching :
How to do it is appeared explicitly but not that easy because there is so many mini games in this game. So for some students, it can be felt complecated. And those activities help the learners focus on particular sentences, not sounds. And it is well organized to help preteach and develop follow-up activities.
3)Interaction with the computer :
There is obviously interaction with not only the computer but also other learners. The interaction allow learners to speak in their own voice and the language of the interactions provide interesting and useful material for learners to use in other activities.
4)Evaluation and visual feedback :
It provide accurate evaluation and feedback to learners about the correctness of their responses and provide understandable visual feedback.
5)Strategy development :
This web guide learners in developing strategies that will help them find and use technology for oral language outside of the class.
How to use?
It is well-programmed web site. So you don't have to do it in class. But just little instruction for it will be a great help to them. Because it is kind of complicated to use. Give them explanation kindly and encourage them to join the game. This game especially for girls will be loved. And their English ability can be developed with fun. And they can compete with their friends. And dress their avatars up. Isn't it interesting? Doesn't it sound great?
