One Moment around the World is a story/quiz that you can do with your students to help them tell the time. It tells the story of eight children who live in countries from Brazil to New Zealand.

As each child’s story unfolds you and your child will need to calculate the time they do the activity by adding or subtracting hours from Greenwich Mean Time. This will provide a fun challenge for both you and your child, along with telling the time correctly.

Every child enjoys a story. This one combines the interest of what various children do in their free time around the world with the challenge of telling the time appropriately.

What is more, younger students may not even be aware of the concept of time zones so may find it mysterious or strange that while they are sleeping, other people around the world are doing various leisure activities, and vice-versa.

This activity will help your students with providing a meaningful context in which they can practise telling the time, along with providing them with meaningful input of language such as the present continuous and prepositions of time.

1) Learner fit :
Regarding to learners, the structured grammatical input can fit the learners in terms of level, topics and activities. Of course, the program provide a means of matching the learners to the grammatical instruction they need.
2) Interaction with the computer :
Learners have opportunities for interaction with the computer to provide a variety of explicit teaching, discovery, analysis and productions in this game.
3) Interaction with other learners :
The activities can be used to spark conversation and collaborative work focusing on particular grammar points that you want to teach, if you want. But you should make some offline activities with this web. And the activities provide an opportunity for learners to focus on form occasionally while communicating about something else.
4) Two types of evaluation :
The activities provide feedback to learners about their responses. And it provide evaluation of learning outcomes through quizzes that provide learners with information about their perfomance because they are quizzes itself.
5) Strategy developmnet :
The activities help learners develop skills for using corpora for gathering and analyzing language examples. And the activities provide guidance in assisting learners to develop strategies that will help them work with electronic texts outside of class.

How to use?
Make your students speak out the expression that is related to time. The story will make the learning more meaningful and students can have fun. Refer the above instruction. I recomment you to use it in class.
